OUR HISTORY
GE Reaves Engineering (GRE) was founded in 1983 by its original owner, Mr. Gaylord E. Reaves, P.E., R.P.L.S., in San Antonio, Texas. Under Mr. Reaves’ leadership, the firm established a strong reputation providing structural engineering services with a primary focus on large residential structures, foundation design, and light commercial buildings, including renovations and structural modifications.
On February 14, 2017, GRE was acquired by its current owner, Mr. Gustavo Gonzalez, P.E., principal of GGE Consulting Engineers, Inc. The acquisition preserved the longstanding goodwill and recognition associated with the GE Reaves Engineering name. Prior to the acquisition, Mr. Gonzalez served as Assistant City Manager for Public Works with the City of Corpus Christi, bringing extensive public-sector leadership and infrastructure experience to the firm. Following his departure from public service, Mr. Gonzalez relocated to San Antonio to acquire and expand GRE.
Since the acquisition, the firm has significantly expanded its civil engineering and land surveying service lines, strengthening its capabilities and increasing its presence throughout the South Texas region. The firm now provides integrated engineering and surveying solutions for both public and private sector clients.
In 2026, the firm formally reverted to its original corporate name, GGE Consulting Engineers, Inc., which was incorporated in 2007, aligning the firm’s branding with its expanded multidisciplinary services and long-term strategic direction.
Today, GGE Consulting Engineers employs a diverse team that includes Professional Engineers, Professional Surveyors, Engineers-in-Training, Surveyors-in-Training, experienced technicians, fully equipped survey crews, and dedicated accounting and administrative staff. The firm remains headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, continuing its legacy of service excellence across South Texas.

Three robotic total stations, four GPS/GNSS receivers with Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) and Network RTK (Texas VRS) capability, digital levels, and six rugged field data collectors enable sub-centimeter horizontal accuracy and millimeter-class vertical precision. In-office, 15+ CAD workstations run AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoDesk Infrastructure Modeler, LIDAR data processing pipelines, and HEC-RAS flood modeling — with advanced field-to-finish digital workflows throughout.
Project Management Solutions
Gustavo Gonzalez personally oversees all project work and serves as the single point of accountability for every client. GGE employs a four-phase project workflow — Initiation, Field Operations, Office Processing, and Deliverable Submission — with formal QA/QC reviews at each stage. Project management databases and scheduling software keep timelines tight and communication transparent, while emergency response protocols and after-hours availability ensure County and municipal clients are never left waiting.
